Island, nubble, Bennett Cove, Chebeague Island

This is actually a nubble, but at high tide it is an island so I've named it Bennett Cove Island. It is quiet, safe & peaceful place very dear to my heart. Ink sketch, actually 3 paintings, is the 1st part of pen & wash, later I'll add watercolor.

Halifax Island Florida

Success, sometimes as an artist you struggle to get what you see in your mind on the canvas, but I love how these 3 paintings came out. They flow together and the color makes me so happy. This the 1st time I have used watercolor canvas as usual I ignored instructions and treated it like paper. Watercolor canvas really does need to be stretched, but the surface is wonderful to work on in that you can pick up any watercolor paint and even ink if you are quick enough.

Image Alphabet

Learned alot doing this double spread for the Artistic Alchemy art journal class. I realized that as my life has become happier, my imagery has become softer and more circular, hence all the mandelas on this double spread.

Pete Seeger & Internal Colors

WKNO special on Pete Seeger reminded me of my childhood in Maine. I didn't realize how intertwined my love of folk music is with Pete Seeger's music. We sang & listened to his folk music at school and summer camp. They were our car songs for long car trips. Living in the mid-south has helped me understand just how strong his songs are and why he created them.
