Buzy, just a peek!

Life has been very buzy, but here is just a peek at what I've been working on. I know I have missed 2 of my self-imposed deadlines, but it couldn't be helped. As soon as I figure out Etsy, I will list a few things there. Also, I'm doing a christmas art journal again with d'blogala this time. Journaling around and about Christmas did really seem to help with the Christmas Blues. We may be off to Florida for Thanksgiving, but the kitchen isn't finished yet. We'll see what happens. Enjoy!

The animals are characters in children's books, my husband, Art, and I are writing at this moment

Landscapes are painted from a variety of inspiration, on location, sketches, photos, and even memory. The Tennessee landscape is just starting to feel familiar after living here for 10 years. Maybe that's beacuse we haven't traveled at all this year. I am originally from Maine and I travel to Florida a lot, so I have quite a lot of visual memory of those places. When I only have time for a quick pencil sketch on location, the paintings would be finished in the studio with the help of the sketches and photos.

The abstract paintings come from experiements, I am happy with. They are a way for me to try new things, either colors, techniques, etc. and to grow. They don't fit into any particular style, but they always have my color palette and my mark making.

Including in the highs and lows of this week was the parole hearing for Mr. White who caused the firey accident my brother and Yasmi died in. It will be 2 weeks or more before we know the results of the parole hearing, but today Extreme Home Makeover reveals Trina & the girls new home. Today, is defininetly a high. Plans Change

They say make plans and listen for God to chuckle, because he has better plans for you. We have a unexpected family event towards the end of October, so I will set a new goal for myself of November 1,2009 to have my Etsy store open. In the meantime, here's a peak at what I plan (see above :) ) to be selling.

Etsy Store In Fall 2009

I'm taking the plunge this fall to open my own Etsy store. To be open for the Christmas season, I'm targeting October 1,2009. Above are samples of paintings & knitted baby toys, that I intend to sell. I want the Etsy store, my blog, even my facebook page to be fun & high quality. Tons of cute ideas are coming down from God daily so stay tuned. Please, send good vibes & prayers as I navigate this joyful challenge for the 1st time. Sues

Knitting for baby Mango

My good friend, Anna, is having a baby, which Art has named Mango. Mango being the 1st baby close to us in a long, long time (all nieces & nephews are grown), I've been knitting up a storm. It's fun to make these sweet baby boy things in my favorite colors that Anna picked for Mango's room.
