Teressa's Sign WIP

Teressa's Sign needs the lettering, 'fresh eggs for sale', so remains a work in progress for a while longer. Painting the rooster & hen were a lot of fun,but different than my usual work. Daily Art Cards just haven't happened due to my exhaustion from Physical Therapy on my foot. Only a week & 1/2 more of Physical Therapy so I expect to create the Daily Art Cards again at that time. My foot has made amazing progress, I'm able to do normal everyday walking, but am excited to get back to being athletic, again sometime soon.

Arly Snow 2009

Arly got 10 inches of snow over the weekend. Yes, that's right 10 inches of snow just outside of Memphis, Tennessee. Usually, the whole area around Memphis shuts down for 2-3 inches of snow so for 10 inches many churches even canceled services, which is quite unusual here in the bible belt. There was a mess on I-40, but the snow melted quickly so we could get to work on Monday. In the meantime, we enjoyed playing in the snow. Enjoy!
Sunday, 1st sunshine on 10 inches of snow.

Tuesday, The snow that remained after 2 days with the high in the 40's. End of the week we will have highs in the 70's so the snow will be all gone by then.

Daily Art Card

This daily art card is a different kind of doodle as the landscape is a combination of a sky from one place & time. The halifax island #1 with the water is from a different time & different place. This is where lots of sketching & painting plein aire really pays off.
The quote below is paraphrased from one by Louise Hay to more specifically reflect my life. Enjoy!

My studio is a pleasure to be in. There is mutual respect with others.

Art Cards

I'm working almost daily on the art cards. Once again, it is impossible for me to work in the studio on the weekends. Saturday & Sunday, I love spending time with my husband, Art and our dog, Moby so I've decided to create a couple of extra cards during the week. Since I am already behind, I realize that it may take more than 365 days to create 365 cards. This way I can get to 365 cards without going to much over a year. Who knows I may change the goals again, this is a journey not a factory. I do want to try to create daily, but sketching while watching TV is another idea for the 2 weekend cards. We'll just have to see how things work.

Time to Catch Up - Daily Art Cards & Renovations

I've been busy with the daily art cards. It seems that no matter what size I work it takes the same amount of time for me to create something I like - about 6 hours. I am a bit behind so I'll double or triple up for a few days to catch up. As for my other projects, they are still awaiting time to work on them, but I will get to them.

We are gratefully back into the living room with the new wooden floor. We still have to put up the solid oak paneling and a final paint coat on everthing. Not to mention, we will be getting new cabinets somehow. For now we are just happy to have the space back, the studio was getting quite crowded with it being our kitchen, living room, dining room & my work space.
